Baton Twirling Auditions?

I want to try out for baton my freshmon year i no this early to ask but i take dance now and have been for 8 years but before i danced i took baton for 4 years and i was wondering when you audion do you have to have your own baton or do they give u one to use because my old stuff is to short for me and my mom got rid of everything. so would i have to get a baton to audition or not?
