Playing mozart songs to my dog?

right now, its so noisy outside due to the christmas celebration...with all of the fireworks sounds at play...i know dogs can really be nervous with those kinda noise so i play mozart songs to them..CD. is my dogs' anxiety normal? (GSD)..am i doing the right therapy? one of my friends told me not to get very touchy to them whenever they are nervous so that they'll soon outgrow their anxiety. is this right? who else are doing the same thing?
