Why do people beleive in religions (gods) ?

Hi ( i am not religious) but why do people believe in gods and stuff, prey and things, it may be tradition but it hasn't got them anywhere. they live a far less life compared to normal people, and die just like every1. praying doesn't stop them dieing, also science has proven the fact that the earth and (universe) was not created by gods, also there hasn't been any amazing things ever that has happened, in about 2000 years to prove there being gods, jesus, who is to say he is real? he is a myth just like hercules, loch ness monster, big foot :S is he not? nobody knows, what i like about normal people like me tho is that we ddon'tmind people being religious, but what im sure we all hate is when religious people try and make us religious and piss us off, by saying oh no i cant do this (possibly a law) because of their religion. we cannot or do not say anything about there rreligions but yet they preach and that pisses me off, if people wanted to bbelievein god and religions let them bbelieve but why do you get people walking around with bibles saying read this. and trying to make us read it, they need to piss of and let us decide weather we even want to think about religions, we ddon'tgo around places and start saying (stop bbelievingin rreligions which i think we should because wheres the proof tthat'sthere are gods, if there are god then where are they, in the end people like me should be able to live my life how we want, which is relaxed and how we like. and rreligiouspeople can go to church all the time, not have tv.s cover themselves in cloth stuff, read bibles, pray and sing hhymns but in the end they are missing out in life, trapped beyond a barrier, they live imprisoned in their religion, and yet they die just like us, not any better and not any worse. only they are missing half of their life, because they are dedicated to their religion. why is this?
