Would interstellar travel be possible through the use of planetary magnetic fields?

This could just be my ignorance, but has anyone ever heard of using planetary magnetic fields for interstellar travel? From a theoretical standpoint, it seems as though we could use the magnetic fields much like a Maglev train for propulsion.
